Dial-A-Bus

Our dial-a-bus service is a door to door service for Stornoway and the Broadbay area. It caters for shopping trips, hospital/doctor/dentist appointments or any other need.

This service uses one of our disabled access vehicles. Registered users must book by telephone by 3pm the day before travel. Bookings will be on a first come, first served basis.

You can bring your own assistant if you need help with shopping, pushing wheelchairs or just someone to keep you company.

To qualify to use the dial-a-bus service, you must be over the age of concession or live with a disability or have limited access to or be unable to use public transport services.

You must also register as an individual member of VAL at a special reduced rate of £1 per annum. Details on request.

Times of operation

Area	Days of Operation
Point (including Holm, Melbost & Parkend) Book by 3pm the day before	Tuesday
Tolsta, Tong, Back Book by 3pm the day before	Wednesday
Stornoway (including Newmarket, Newvalley, Laxdale & Marybank) Book by 3pm the day before	Thursday

Operating Times

First pick up 10am approx

Last drop off 2pm approx

How much does it cost?

The cost of a trip is £2.50 return per person as a contribution towards operating costs.
